Learn New Skills and Achieve Professional Satisfaction at Dental Careers Foundation
Here in Plano, we’ve been offering our stimulating course in dental assisting since 1993, and over that time, we’ve worked hard to create and maintain a distinguished reputation through our passion, our experience, and our excitement when it comes to helping students discover a career that can be truly fulfilling. We’re proud to offer our class as a cooperative program that we provide in partnership with Brookhaven College and Richland College, and you can register at either of their Continuing Education campuses. We welcome students from all over the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and beyond!
Did you know that the starting pay for trained dental assistants is considerably higher than non-trained ones? While incomes can differ depending on office location, you’ll be amazed by how many enticing job opportunities can open up for you once you’ve completed our ten-week course. In fact, many doctors call our office in order to ask for a list of recent graduates, and we’re always happy to inform our current students of any doctors who are looking to hire new assistants so that they can apply for positions directly. Many of our students have obtained jobs before they’ve even completed the course!
Here at Dental Careers Foundation, we don’t believe in forcing students to sit through overinflated lectures and extraneous literature in order to justify a bloated tuition and schedule. Our course covers all the important subjects you need to know in a relatively brisk period of time, and our all-inclusive tuition is listed clearly on our upcoming classes page so that there are no surprises when it comes to registering. Above all else, we’re here to help prepare you for a stimulating career in dental assisting through thorough hands-on training, the latest techniques and technology, and lots of individualized, personal attention and participation.
Our course is provided three times a year – January, May/June, and September. Students will attend lectures on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm; A Friday weekday class is also offered from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. All classes will meet for ten weeks, and a Certificate of Achievement will be awarded at the successful completion of the course, as well as a letter of recommendation and summary of your training experience. In addition, the college that you registered through will provide you with a Continuing Education Certificate as well. Learn more about registering here. We look forward to welcoming you and helping you achieve a newfound sense of direction when it comes to your career!
Common Questions and Answers
How much will I need to study outside of class?
Most of our students have told us that they spend two to four hours per week studying outside class.
Is financial aid available?
Can you help me with job placement?
We have close relationships with several dental offices in the metroplex; they often even call our school when they’re in need of new dental assistants. While we can’t guarantee employment, we will be happy to assist you when it comes to securing a job once you’ve completed our course. In fact, we can offer valuable help with several steps of the process, including writing you a letter of recommendation, helping you craft an effective resume, and training you for the interview process.
Will I have to take a test to become a fully registered dental assistant?
Yes. There’s no need to worry, though – we will prepare you fully for it! You will be taking the TSBDE exam online through the Texas Academy of General Dentistry site.
